Fire resilience

Stone wool is non-combustible by nature. It can withstand temperatures above 1000°C, reducing the spread of fire and toxic smoke. Its fire resilience acts as an effective barrier, slowing fire progression while helping manufacturers meet the most stringent fire-safety standards and ensuring the safety of people and spaces.

Non-combustible building materials can help save lives.

Acoustic performance

The fibrous structure of stone wool disrupts and slows the movement of sound waves, allowing it to absorb and dampen noise effectively. It is suitable for interior solutions as well as industrial applications such as sandwich panels, silencer systems and sound barriers where acoustic requirements are high.
Whether it’s reducing equipment noise or improving acoustic comfort in technical environments, our solutions helps create quieter, more comfortable and higher-performing spaces.

Design flexibility

Our products can be engineered in many forms: soft, rigid, high-density or compressible, making them easy to adapt to complex geometries and specific OEM requirements. This versatility allows seamless integration into components, panels, equipment or systems while maintaining high performance.

Design Flexibility

Moisture repellence

Naturally hydrophobic, stone wool repels water and helps prevent moisture, such as corrosion, condensation or mould. It ensures durable, reliable performance even in challenging environments or applications exposed to humidity.

ROCKWOOL stone wool insulation is designed to be water-repellant and does not absorb moisture.

Thermal performance

Stone wool provides reliable thermal insulation by limiting heat transfer through its dense fibre network. This consistent performance helps maintain a comfortable indoor environment for the people living or working inside buildings. It also enhances energy efficiency, protects sensitive components, and ensures optimal operation even in demanding or fluctuating conditions.

ROCKWOOL insulation is engineered to keep you comfortable inside whatever the weather is outside.

Durability & circularity

Made from volcanic rock, stone wool is built to last. It maintains its performance for at least 50 years without degrading, which significantly reduces maintenance needs, waste and resource consumption.
Because it is endlessly recyclable with no loss of properties, our solutions naturally supports a circular approach. Through our Rockcycle® recycling programme, we collect used stone wool from construction and demolition sites and reintroduce it into the production of new products, closing the loop and lowering the environmental impact of the industry.

ROCKWOOL stone wool is based on stone and therefore endlessly recyclable.
