Listen to "Building On The Rocks" – our brand-new podcast for construction professionals

November 17, 2025

ROCKWOOL Core Solutions is proud to present Building On The Rocks — a new podcast created for architects, specifiers, and building industry professionals.

Because sharing knowledge drives innovation, we’ve invited two recognised experts: Prof. Marco Imperadori and Architect Pankaja Bagul to share their insights on the construction industry.

Across four episodes, they explore the forces reshaping the built environment, from industrialised construction and sustainability to digital design and aesthetics in modern architecture. Each episode combines in-depth discussion, real-world examples, and diverse perspectives that challenge conventional thinking and offer fresh inspiration for today’s building professionals.

Inside the episodes

Episode 1

Offsite: The Evolution of Construction

In this first episode, you'll dive into a conversation between Marco Imperadori, renowned expert and professor at Politecnico di Milano, and Mike Newby, Associate Director at Definition PR. Together, they discuss how prefabrication, modular thinking and energy performance challenges are changing the way we build today.

Episode 2

Closing the Loop: Sustainability in Practice

In this episode, Marco Imperadori and Pankaja Bagul, sustainability and design consultant, analyse the realities of circular construction and the role of certification systems. Using practical ideas and real-life examples, they highlight the mindsets and steps that make buildings truly more respectful of people and the planet.

Episode 3

Designing Beauty with Purpose

Can industrialised or modular buildings still inspire admiration?

In this episode, Prof. Marco Imperadori and Architect Pankaja Bagul explore the balance between efficiency and aesthetics. Drawing from historical and contemporary examples, they discuss how collaboration, creativity, and digital tools can bring both elegance and performance to modern architecture.

Episode 4

Computational Design: Where Nature Meets Code

In this episode, Pankaja Bagul and Mike Newby dive into the world of computational design — where algorithms, parametric modelling, and digital workflows are reshaping how we imagine and construct buildings.

They discuss projects made possible only through computation and reflect on what this means for creativity, sustainability, and the human experience within architecture.
